As of January 2003, this project is on hold. I got into metalshaping as
an extension of my interest in patch panels and body work and it has become a
minor addiction. In 2002, I joined the Metalshapers group (Metalshapers.org),
built a bunch/bought of equipment (English Wheel, Air Hammer, Bead Roller,
Pullmax, 2 lathes, Mill, and some smaller stuff.). This has taken over
considerable room in my shop and I decided to sell the 38 Studebaker Pickup and
move the 57 out under a shed until I get back to it. Don't know when this
will be. I've kind of lost interest and have other projects that interest
me more, specifically:
- Minor restoration and paint on my 'new' 66 300 (saga forthcoming)
- Complete restoration and paint on the 68 Imperial Convertible I purchased
from Robert Soule (yellow and black, saga also forthcoming)
- Getting the 50 Crown Limo brakes fixed and driving. I'll then decide
if I want to restore it or sell it to someone who can put the bucks in it to
do it right
- The one I'm looking most forward to is the 61 GeeA Limo project. (If
you have read this far, you realize I'm a fabricator at heart)
- Then I have the 60 Windsor to do
Of course by the time I finish all this, I will probably have found a couple
dozen more and drug some of them home. At some point, I'll get
re-energized on the roadster if I don't get too old first.
Hope you enjoyed the story!
